Dhaka, Nov 6 (UNB) – Three members of a Rohingya family, including a woman, sustained bullet injuries in an attack by robbers at Nayapara Rohingya camp in Teknaf upazila on Monday night.
The injured were identified as Azizul Haque, 50, his wife Tayeba Begum, 40, and their son Hossain Johar, 16, who were residing at the camp.
Quoting locals, officer-in-charge of Teknaf Police Station Prodip Kumar Das said a gang of robbers, led by Nurul Alam and Md Sadek, also Rohingyas, swooped on Azizul’s house around 9:30pm.
At one stage, the bandits fired gunshots on the family members as they were shouting for help.
Later, locals rescued the trio and took them to a health facility at the camp. They were later shifted to Cox’s Bazar General Hospital.
