It started on February 17, said Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Junayid Alam Khan, director of operation of BGB (south-west region).
Abu Taher Muhammad Ibrahim, additional director of BGB and also regional commander of north-west region, led a 14-member delegation on behalf of Bangladesh.
Yagesh Bahadur Khurania, inspector general of BSF of South Bengal Frontier, led an 11-member delegation in the conference, said a BGB press release.
The conference was also attended by BGB’s south–west regional commander, sector commanders, and representatives of BGB headquarters, foreign and home ministries and department of narcotics control. For the Indian side, IGs of North Bengal and Guwahati frontiers, sector level staffs and representatives of foreign ministry and narcotics control department took part.
Smuggling of drugs, firearms and ammunitions, border killings, arrests of innocent Bangladeshis, illegal trespassing and various bilateral issues were discussed at the conference.
