Maudud Ahmed Rumi, incharge of Tamabil Immigration Police, said they entered the country at noon on completion of due process thanks to an initiative taken by the government.
After initial screening, they were taken to the isolation ward of Gowainghat Upazila Health Complex, he said, adding that they will be released after a 14-day quarantine.
The eight went to the neighbouring country in recent days and got stuck in Meghalaya and Assam.
Earlier in the day, 318 more Bangladeshis returned home from Delhi and Chennai on two special flights.
Of the returnees, 151 came from New Delhi by a special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines while 167 came from Chennai by another special flight of US-Bangla Airlines, according to Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi.

Most of the returnees are patients who got stuck in India due to current lockdown there amid coronavirus outbreak. Students are also there among the returnees.
