Dhaka, Feb 19 (UNB) – Writer Mohammad Abul Kashem on Tuesday presented a copy of his book 'Maurya' to President Abdul Hamid.
The writer met the President at Bangabhaban and handed over the book to him.
The President said the book on history will attract readers and enrich the Bangla literature.
He also thanked the writer for publishing the book on a different theme.
Chandragupta Maurya, the founder of the Maurya Empire in ancient India, married Helena, the daughter of Greek emperor Seleucus.
The history-based book will focus on the 2300-year-old history in Bangla and relationship between Chandragupta and Helena.
The book was published by Anyaprakash.
The book is available at the ongoing Amar Ekushey Book Fair at pavilion-20.
Earlier, three launching ceremonies were held in Dhaka, Chattogram and Rajshahi.
