This information was revealed on Monday at a meeting of newly elected executive committee of the organization with secretary of Industries Ministry a hotel in the city, a press release said.
Industries Secretary Md Abdul Halim as the chief guest said that the use of information and technology is increasing for the fourth industrial revolution. As a result, the competition in the industrial sector has shot up.
“So, we will have to increase productivity and skilled manpower for sustaining in the competition. We are ready to give all sort of assistance APO society to strengthen the production activities in national level,” he also said.
Acting President of the APO Society for Bangladesh and National Productivity Organization (NPO) Director SM Ashrafuzzaman presided over the function while Dr. Md. Mofizur Rahman, Director General of Bangladesh Industrial Technical Assistance Centre (BITAC), Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) Director General Md Moazzem Hossain, and others were present there.
However, the APO is an intergovernmental organization committed to improving productivity in the Asia-Pacific region. Established in 1961, the APO contributes to the sustainable socioeconomic development of the region through policy advisory services and institutional capacity-building efforts.
