Dhaka, July 29 (UNB) – A Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) member, who was injured in a crude-bomb attack carried out by drug smugglers along Panchbhulat border in Jashore district on July 26 died at the Combined Military Hospital here on Monday.
The victim, Habildar Akmal Hossain, hailing from Mithapukur upazila in Rangpur district, succumbed to his injuries around 9:25am while undergoing treatment at the Critical Care Unit (CCU) of the hospital, said Mohsin Reza, public relations officer of BGB headquarters.
On July 26, Akmal was injured when a group of drug smugglers hurled a crude bomb targeting a BGB team during an anti-drug drive along the Panchbhulat border.
A suspected drug peddler was also killed in the attack.
