He came up with the announcement at a discussion meeting on the investigation report on Churihatta and FR Tower fire incidents at the secretariat on Wednesday.
The Minister said it was the demand of the country’s people that the chemical warehouses located in the city’s residential areas to be shifted to a place outside the capital.
“We have come to know from a report of the Industries Ministry that 310 acres of land have been allocated in Sirajdikhan upazila for relocating the chemical warehouses. 2,154 plots will be allotted there involving Tk 1700 crore,” he said.
“We have got the investigation report of Churihatta fire incident. In this report we have got five short-term 26 long-term recommendations. We have discussed these recommendations at the meeting,” he said.
Representatives from 22 ministries were present at the meeting.
