Residents of a building in Dhaka’s Mirpur have restricted their movement after a 73-year-old man died of coronavirus on Friday.
The man’s family has gone on home quarantine while other residents of the building in Darus Salam’s Tularbagh limited their movement, police said.
Tofael Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Darus Salam Police Station, said the man, who was residing in the building, tested positive for coronavirus.
“After his death, his family members went on home quarantine, while 29 other families of the building limited their movement voluntarily to protect themselves and others from being infected,” he said.
Bangladesh has so far confirmed two coronavirus deaths and 24 cases. The first death was announced on March 18.
On March 8, the IEDCR announced detection of three Covid-19 patients in the country. All of them have recovered.
