All types of public transport will remain halted from March 26 to April 4, said Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Tuesday.
He made the announcement in a video message from the ministry.

He said no goods-laden vehicle can carry any passenger.
The operation of all domestic flights will remain suspended from Tuesday midnight until further notice, said Senior Secretary to Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry Mohibul Haque on Tuesday.

“Train services on all routes in the country will remain shut from Tuesday until further notice,” said Railways Secretary Mofazzal Hossain while talking to UNB over phone.
The decision was taken at the highest level of the government, said Bangladesh Railway Director General Shamsuzzaman.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) shut down river transportation from Tuesday afternoon to control the transmission of coronavirus.
“Vessels, including launches, will not be allowed to ply from Tuesday afternoon,” said Md Jahangir Alam Khan, senior information and public relations officer of the Shipping Ministry.
However, cargo vessels will operate as usual. "The restriction will remain in place until further notice," he said.
