The health authorities on Saturday confirmed 3,240 new coronavirus cases across the country in a span of 24 hours, taking the total number to 108,775.
The death toll from the various rose to 1,425 as another 37 infected people lost their lives during the period.
Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Nasima Sultana came up with the disclosure at its daily health bulletin.

In the last 24 hours, she said, laboratories across the country tested 14,031 samples.
The detection rate of new patients in the country was recorded 23.09 percent on Saturday.
Besides, she added, 1,048 more patients made recovery from the disease, raising the total number to 42,945.
Given the total number of detected cases, the recovery rate in Bangladesh is 40.44 percent while the mortality 1.31 percent.
Dr Nasima mentioned that details about the deceased will be announced in a press release later. “We haven’t yet received the detailed information.”

Across the country, 628 more people were taken to isolation in the last 24 hours while 187 released.
During the period, another 1,538 people were home and institutionally quarantined and 2,074 released.
Global coronavirus death toll now 459,437
The confirmed coronavirus cases have exceeded 8.6 million globally, with over 459,437 fatalities and more than 4.2 million recoveries, according to the latest tally from Johns Hopkins University (JHU) on Saturday
According to the data, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases has reacehd 8,639,023.
Among the countries, the US has been the worst-hit one with the highest recorded deaths of 119,099 patients and about 2,219,976 confirmed cases.
Meanwhile, the confirmed coronavirus cases in Brazil have surpassed one million with 48,654 deaths, making the Latin American country the second worst-hit country in the world following the US.
According to the JHU data, Russia and India have come up to the third and fourth positions after the US and Brazil with 568,292 and 380,532 confirmed cases and 7,831 and 12,573 fatalities respectively as of Saturday.
Chinese health authorities on Saturday said 27 new Covid-19 cases were reported on the Chinese mainland on Friday, of which 23 were local transmissions and four inbound cases. No new death was, however, reported.
On Friday, the World Health Organization (WHO) warned of a "new and dangerous phase" of the coronavirus pandemic with people getting tired of lockdowns although the disease is spreading fast.
Coronavirus cases were first reported in China in December last year.
The WHO declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic on March 11.
Bangladesh on Friday recorded 45 deaths from coronavirus in a span of 24 hours, raising the death toll to 1,388.
The number of total Covid-19 patients also surged to 105,537 as the health authorities confirmed 3,243 new cases across the country during the period.
