Dhaka, Jan 3 (UNB) - Mirza Shameem Akhter, a senior sub-editor of the daily sun, passed away at a city hospital early Thursday. He was 53.
Shameem, a confirmed bachelor, breathed his last at Better Life Hospital at Rampura around 4am while undergoing treatment, daily sun news editor Syed Afzal Hossain told UNB.
He said Shameem was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday as he was suffering from pneumonia.
After diagnosis, Afzal said, doctors found Shameem’s kidneys and lungs in a serious condition.
Shameem’s body was taken to his Joregachha village home in Bogura’s Sariakandi upazila where he was buried at his family graveyard following his namaz-e-janaza after Esha prayers.
