Dhaka, Sept 24 (UNB) – A Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mobile court led separate eviction drives in city’s Uttara and Karwan Bazar on Tuesday to remove illegal establishments.
The mobile court led by DNCC executive magistrate Md Sajid Anwar and Julkar Nayan conducted drive in Uttara from 11:30am and evicted 250 temporary establishments and recovered a total area of almost 50,000 square feet.
Besides, the mobile court filed four cases against four establishments and fined them a total of Tk 4 lakh for creating obstacles to public movement by their illegal establishments on footpaths and roads.
Of them, RMC Hospital & Diagnostic Complex was fined Tk 1.5 lakh, Square Bengal Tk 1 lakh, a food hotel Tk 50,000 and a building owner Tk 50,000.
Another mobile court led by executive magistrate Md Aminul Islam conducted drive in Karwan Bazar around 2pm and evicted 80 illegal establishments from footpaths and roads.
