DNCC Mayor Md Atikul Islam inaugurated the drive at 11 am at the second gate of Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
Addressing the programme, the mayor said, “From our previous experience of first combing operation now we know where Aedes mosquitoes breed. In the first phase, the house owners were only warned when Aedes larvae were found there. But this time legal action will be taken.”
Action will be taken against the flat owners if garbage are found dumped at the service passages, he said.
The mayor also urged the city dwellers to keep their houses, workplaces, mosques, madrasas, schools, college and business establishments clean.
The first phase of the combing operation was conducted for 10 days on August 25.
Mobile courts of the City Corporation will continue their anti-mosquito drive round the year.
