The HC bench of Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader issued the order following a writ petition filed by a freedom fighter of Cumilla district.
The court also said it can summon anyone if there is any violation of its order, fixing May 19 for the next hearing.
The National Freedom Fighter Council Act-2002 stipulates that if any person collects fake certificate through fraudulence means, it is his/her fault and for which the freedom fighters, the best sons of the nation, should not be addressed ‘fake freedom fighters’.
Deputy Attorney General Abdullah Al Mahmud Bashar said the authorities concerned can take necessary action against those who collected fake freedom fighter certificates.
According to section 7 (jha) of the National Freedom Fighter Council Act-2002, the authorities concerned will recommend making the list of genuine freedom fighters, providing them with certificates and cancelling fake certificates of freedom fighters.
The National Freedom Fighter Council sent a notice to Abdul Aziz Khandaker, a freedom fighter of Homna upazila in Cumilla, saying his certificate was found to be fake.
On May 7, Abdul Aziz filed the writ petition with the High Court challenging the legality of the notice.
