As part of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s entourage, the business delegation of the apex trade body - Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries(FBCCI) joined the first day session of the Summit on Thursday at Taj Palace Hotel.
Over 800 leaders from 40 countries are taking part in the Summit of the World Economic Forum (WEF), being organized in collaboration with Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
On the second day of ‘India Economic Summit’ on Friday, FBCCI President Fahim will attend an interactive session with CEOs of leading industries of India.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Minister for Commerce and Industry and Railways of Government of India PiyushGoyal will also attend the interactive session, said the FBCCI.
FBCCI delegation will also attend the inauguration of India-Bangladesh Business Forum (IBBF) on the same day in New Delhi.
The forum will be organized by Ministry of External Affairs India in collaboration with Confederation of Indian Induatry (CII), Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI).
FBCCI President Fahim will give inaugural speech and make a video presentation on ‘Rising Bangladesh’.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi and Minister for Commerce & Industry and Railways of Government of India Piyush Goyal will be present at the forum.
Other members of the FBCCI Delegation are FBCCI Senior Vice President Md. Muntakim Ashraf, Vice Presidents Hasina Newaaz, Md Rejaul Kariem, Md. Siddiqur Rahman, Mir Nizam Uddin Ahmed, Nizam Uddin and FBCCI Directors Benjir Ahmed, M.P, Md. Kohinoor Islam, Md. Nizam Uddin, Mohammed Riyadh Ali, Priti Chakraborty, Alamgir Shamsul Alamin Kajal, Md. Munir Hossain, M. A. Razzak Khan, Syed Nurul Islam and Md. Munzoor Rahman (Peter).
Besides, FBCCI former President Md. Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, Chattogram Chamber of Commerce & President, Mahbubul Alam, e Generation Chairman, Shameem Ahsan, Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry President, NihadKabir, Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) President, Osama Taseer and Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BGMEA) President Rubana Huqare also joining as FBCCI delegation.
In absence of FBCCI President and Senior Vice President, Dilip Kumar Agarwala, Vice President of FBCCI is made its acting President.
The FBCCI delegation is expected to return October 6.
