Besides, Raghunath Barman 48, father of an expatriate Tapash Barman, was given one-month jail on charge of sending his son to Narayanganj from Munshiganj while in home quarantine.
The mobile courts conducted separate drives in district sadar, Tongibari and Sirajdikhan upazilas.
The five expatriates are : Singapore returnee Dipak Barman, 19, UAE returnee Md Karim, Italy returnee Harun, Saudi returnee Shahidul and Iraq returnee Minu Akter.
Munshiganj Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Faruk Ahmed informed that Raghunath Barman sent his son Tapash Barman to Narayanganj for business work. Later, conducting mobile court at Sutarpur of Ponchoshor under Sadar, the father was given one-month jail.
Meanwhile, Ashraful Kabir, executive magistrate of the mobile court, informed that two returnee expatriates from Singapore and UAE came to Munshiganj Passport office after breaching quarantine few days back. The mobile court was conducted after Passport Officer informed the district administration about the matter. At this time, Singapore returnee Dipak Barman was fined Tk 5,000 while UAE returnee Md Karim was fined Tk 10,000.
Meanwhile, Ahshfiqun Nahar, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Sirajdikhan, informed that Italy-resident expatriate of Malkhanagar Harun was fined Tk 5,000 for breaching quarantine.
Hasina Akter, UNO of Tongibari Upazila, said that Iraq returnee of Paikpara Minu Akter, was fined Tk 5,000 and Saudi returnee of the same village Shahidul was fined Tk 10,000 .
Besides, 67 more people went to quarantine while one person successfully completed quarantine. Currently in Munshiganj, there are 151 people in quarantine.
