Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) early Thursday recovered four highly precious idols made of touchstone during a drive in Borsail village of Sadar upazila.
Lieutenant Cornel Ariful Islam of BGB Battalion 16 in a press briefing said that acting on a tip-off they conducted a special drive in the village and recovered the idols of Hindu god Vishnu.
The four idols weighing total 100 kg and 850 grams were found in an open place beside the house of a local. Their market price would be approximately Tk 1 crore, he said.
The idols would be handed over to the Archaeology Department.
