The decision was made by Prime Minister’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy in a meeting presided over the minister at the secretariat, he said.
After the meeting, the minister told reporters that the Bangabandhu Satellite-2 will be launched by 2021-2023 while the 5G network will also available across Bangladesh by then.
At the programme, Joy inaugurated ‘Nagad account in one minute’ service connecting ‘Porichoy’ app with Bangladesh Post Office's mobile financial service Nagad.
Earlier, it took five days for verification of national ID of any mobile account which is now possible just in one minute using ‘Porichoy’ app.
He also inaugurated commemorative postage stamps marking the World Post Day, web-based online, ISBN and BARCODE services by Archive and Library Department, Telipay service of Teletalk, and new laptop and mobile phone of Bangladesh Telephone Shilpa Shangstha (Tesis).
Posts and Telecommunications Division Secretary Ashoke Kumar Biswas, Director General of Bangladesh Post Office Shudhangshu Shekhar Bhadra were also present there among others.
