Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court Judge Mamunur Rashid passed the order after rejecting Kaiser Hamid’s bail plea.
Before that, the investigation officer on the case police inspector Md Shamsuddin of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) applied to keep Kaiser in jail.
The case statement said that the accused and along with other absconding accused with the help of a multi-level marketing firm- New Way Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited, amassed Tk 22 lakh from the plaintiff and fled.
The company took large amount of money from general people promising of greater profit.
Investigation officer’s appeal stated that Kaiser has been absconding for long time and he has confessed about the fraudulence during the interrogation.
Kaiser’s lawyer Abu Said who moved the bail plea said there is no specific charge against his client and the case was filed to frame his client, he added.
CID arrested the former footballer from city’s Elephant Road area on Sunday night in the case filed with Banani Police Station in 2014.
Kaiser Hamid of Mohammedan, is one of the most successful defender of Bangladesh Football team so far.
The sportsman came into discussions as in 90s he left the football ground and joined the politics of Zaker Party.
He ran with Zaker Party’s ticket in the national election.
