Dhaka, June 25 (UNB)- Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi on Tuesday said the government is doing its best to establish consumers’ rights.
“The incumbent government is working to see that consumers’ rights are ensured,” he said at the closing ceremony of country’s first Gold Festival jointly arranged by Bangladesh Jewelry Association and National Board of Revenue (NBR) at a Dhaka hotel.
The three-day festival saw legalisation of gold, silver and diamond jewelleries worth Tk 175 crore.
Munshi noted that the government is a business-friendly one and said it will give businessmen any kind of support.
He urged gold traders to produce quality ornaments and materials to attract the rich people.
“We’ll be creating an economic zone for gold traders to stop country’s money being transferred abroad,” he added.
