A court here on Wednesday sentenced to death a man on charge of beating his wife to death for dowry.
Advocate Jahurul Haider Babu, Public Prosecutor of Satkhira Women and Children Repression Prevention Special Tribunal, said the tribunal awarded death sentence to husband Ronjon Mondol, 37, on charge of beating his wife Swapna Rani to death for dowry of Tk 50,000
Hosne Ara Akter, Judge of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal gave the verdict at a crowded court in the afternoon.

SI Golam Sarwar Molla, the investigation officer of the case, submitted charge-sheet in the court after completion of further investigation on July 12 in 2012.
