International Federation of Medical Students Association (IFMSA) Bangladesh, a global medical institution-based organisation, arranged the free health screening at Uttar Badda Government Primary School. Around 150 elderly citizens received treatment.
The health screening session included screening of blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease and other chronic diseases. There was a screening booth for mental health assessment for psychiatric evaluation.
Sharif Alvee Ahsan, National Officer on Human Rights and Peace at IFMSA Bangladesh said, "Elderly citizens have given our society so much to stand on our feet and now it’s time we pay a token of tribute to them?”
He added that IFMSA team conducted sessions about diabetes and hypertension, emergency medical conditions management, smoking, dengue outbreak, gastric ulcer & antimicrobial misuse.
The camp was conducted by reputed doctors from various hospitals including Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, and Popular Medical College Hospital.
