RU based little magazine ‘Nirikh’ is organising the convention for the second time aiming to promote the practice of using Bengali literature and culture.
Eminent Indian poet and literary critic Prof Tapodhir Bhattacharjee, also former vice-chancellor of Assam University, will inaugurate the two-day convention at 8:30 am at Shaheed Shukhoranjan Samaddar Teacher-Student Cultural Centre on the campus.
RU Vice-chancellor Prof M Abdus Sobhan will address the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest in presence of little magazine’s editor Prof Safiqunnabi Samadi in the chair.
Hans Harder, Prof of Modern South Asian Languages and Literatures at Heidelberg University in Germany will address the inaugural ceremony as the special guest.
Prof Safiqunnabi Samadi said that more than three hundred writers, literary critics, educationalists and researchers will participate in the convention while a total of sixty literary articles will be presented in the two days’ convention.
Int’l literary convention begins at RU Saturday
