An international workshop on ‘Deeper Understanding of Natural Disaster (UND) Resilience’ concluded on Wednesday at the CARS auditorium of Dhaka University (DU).
State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr. Md. Enamur Rahman MP addressed the concluding program of the 3-day conference as chief guest.
The Department of Disaster Science & Management of DU, UND Project Ges National Resilience Programme and Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief jointly organized this workshop.
Local Coordinator of the workshop and Dean of the Faculty of Earth & Environmental Sciences of DU Prof. Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal presided over the concluding function while Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief Md. Mohsin addressed it as special guest.
State Minister Dr. Md. Enamur Rahman, said, "Bangladesh is always affected by natural disasters. The present government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina always takes precautionary measures to face disasters."
The Minister hoped that participants would be highly benefited by sharing then knowledge and experience gained from this workshop.
Academicians and researchers from the eight countries of Asia including Bangladesh, Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, Indonesia and Taiwan participated in the workshop.
