Dhaka, Jan 4 (UNB) – Six days after the incident, Oikyafront senior leaders are going to visit Subarnachar rape victim in Noakhali.
The Oikyafront leaders, led by BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, is scheduled to start their journey for Noakhali from BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office around 7am, BNP chairperson’s media wing member Shamsuddin Didar told UNB on Friday.
He said Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD-Rob) President ASM Abdur Rob, Nagorik Oikya convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna and some BNP senior leaders will accompany Fakhrul.
They are scheduled to reach Noakhali General Hospital by 12:30pm where the victim is undergoing treatment.
Later, they will exchange views with local lawyers at Noakhali Bar Association office at 3pm.
In the early hours of Monday last, a 40-year-old woman and mother of four, were raped by a group of people.
According to the victim’s husband, a group of hoodlums stormed into their house and tied up all the family members except his wife.
Later, they took the woman outside the house at gunpoint where they violated her in turns, the victim’s husband claimed.
With the help of neighbours, the victim was taken to hospital on Monday noon and a case was filed against nine people over the incident.
