Dhaka, Nov 09 (UNB) – Unidentified miscreants shot dead a jhut (scrap fabrics) trader and injured another in Pallabi area of the city on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Mohiuddin Mohan, 45, son of Abdur Rashid of Paris Road in the area.
Sub-Inspector Bachchu Miah, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police outpost, said some unidentified miscreants opened fire on Mohan while he was standing in front of a medicine shop near Udayan School in the area around 8 pm, leaving him critically injured.
Later, he was rushed to DMCH where the duty doctor declared him dead around 10 pm, said the SI adding that the victim received bullets on his head and abdomen.
Meanwhile, Hasan Ali, 42, son of Chan Mian Bepari, received bullet on his right hand, he added.
