Manikganj, Apr 17 (UNB) - A case has been filed against a man for reportedly raping a woman of Helachia village in Ghior upazila over the last four years.
The victim filed the case with Sadar Police Station on Tuesday night, said its officer-in-charge Rakibuzzaman.
The accused is Mohammad Ali Ujjal, 40, son of Darbesh Bepari and owner of a rice mill, sawmill and furniture shop at Helachia Bazar.
Besides, a woman -- Monira Begum -- was sued for abetting the rape.
The OC said they were trying to arrest the accused.
According to the case statement, the man used to stalk the woman, whose husband was staying abroad, in different ways four years ago.
At one stage, she was tricked into developing a physical relation with him. Ujjal also took photos of their intimate moment and forced her to continue the relation threatening to upload the photos on the internet.
Besides, Ujjal forced the woman, 33, to have physical relations with some other people and to take loans of Tk 8.25 lakh from different NGOs for him.
Recently, the man wanted to build physical relation with the woman’s Class-VIII girl, the case statement said.
As the woman protested it, he threatened her that he would inform her husband of their relationship and photos will be uploaded on social media.
It was also mentioned in the case statement that Ujjal asked the victim to come to the terrace of the four-storey house of Monira Begum at Uttar Seota along with her daughter on Tuesday noon.
Fearing that she might fall in danger, she went there at noon together with her daughter where the man violated her in a room. He also tried to rape her daughter at that time.
At one stage, the woman started screaming and Ujjal fled the scene leaving his mobile phone behind.
Sub-inspector Ashraful Islam, the investigation officer of the case, said the woman was sent to Manikganj 250-bed hospital for medical test.
He also said they seized the mobile phone.
