Dhaka, July 17(UNB)- A new-born baby girl was rescued from Mayakanon of Sabujbagh in the city on Tuesday night.
Police quoting local people said the new born girl, wrapped in clothing, was lying in front of a house of Mayakakon late Tuesday evening.
Being informed, a team of Sabujbagh police station went to the spot and rescued the baby girl at around 9:30 pm, said Sub-Inspector Ziaur Rahman of Sabujbagh police station.
The baby girl was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where she has been undergoing treatment, SI Ziaur Rahman said.
Chairman of New Born baby department of the DMCH Prof Dr Monisha Benarjee said primarily health condition of the baby is apparently good. “We are examining whether she has other physical problem or not,” she added.
Prof Dr Benarjee also said that the baby has cleft lip.
