Dhaka, Aug 7 (UNB) – Permission will be provided soon to those who want to import dengue preventive medicines, including Odomas/Repellant or insecticides to destroy Aedes mosquito.
“Commerce Ministry will accord permission immediately if any importer wants to bring in these to sell at fair price with NOC (No-objection certificate) from Health Ministry or Directorate of Drug Administration,” said an emergency meeting on increasing awareness on dengue in the capital on Wednesday.
The meeting was apprised that there are huge quantity of paracetamol and IV fluids are in stock as necessary preventives to fight dengue fever. “If needed the manufacturers are prepared to produce more,” representatives at the meeting assured.
It was informed on behalf of the manufacturers and pharmacy traders that the price of dengue-preventive medicine is stable. “Both the associations will try their level best to continue the stable situation.”
Steps will be taken to organize meeting after the Eid with the representatives from Health Ministry, Agriculture Ministry, and the representatives from insecticide-manufacturing companies to take initiative to eradicate Aedes mosquito.
