The Prime Minister handed over cheques to the authorities and persons concerned at her official residence Ganabhaban.
She also gave Tk 1 crore each to Buddhist Religious Welfare Trust and Narail District Lawyers’ Welfare Fund.
Sheikh Hasina donated Tk 25 lakh each to the families of four members of Swadhin Bangla Football Team -- Md Kaikobad, Ainul Haque, Fazle Sadain Khokon and Abdul Khaleque Sardar.
The financial assistance was given to ailing Kaikobad for meeting medical expenditures of national sports award recipient and his wife, while ailing Fazle Sadain Khokon for his medical treatment and meeting his family expenditures, late Ainul’s wife Mamataz Begum for paying her husband’s treatment cost, and late Khaleque’s wife Razia Khatun for meeting family expenditures.
Besides, Chilmari Upazila vice-chairman in Kurigram Md Abdul Kuddus received Tk 25 lakh in assistance to meet his medical expenditure, while director of TSP Complex Limited M Qamruzzaman got Tk 10 lakh for bearing his medical treatment cost.
Sheikh Hasina Adarsha College was given Tk 5 lakh for the construction of its infrastructures.
The Prime Minister also provided Tk 5 lakh each to five ailing persons to meet their treatment cost.
They are singer Poli Saionti, two national film award recipients and also makeup artists Kazi Harun and Abdur Rahman, actor Mohiuddin Bahar and former national hockey player Asaduzzaman.
According to the website of Anjuman Mufidul Islam, Anjuman is building a 15-storey commercial building with three basements in Kakrail in the capital under Anjuman JR (Jamilur Rahman) Tower Project.
The multistorey building will be a source of stable income for Anjuman. This building will house its head office and Jamilur Rahman Technical Institute.
It is estimated that this building will cost about Tk.90 crore, which will have to be raised through public donations and institutional (including GoB) grant.
