In a condolence message, the Prime Minister said she is profusely saddened to learn about the premature demise of Politburo member of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the State President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Nam Tran Dai Quang.
At this hour of grief, the people and the government of Bangladesh join me to express the deepest condolences to the people and the government of Vietnam and to the family and friends of the deceased leader, the message said.
Sheikh Hasina, now in London on her way to New York to attend the 73rd UN General Assembly, mentioned that the untimely demise of Nam Tran Dai Quang is an immense loss to the people and the Communist Party of Vietnam.
"The people of Bangladesh will always remember the late President for his invaluable contributions towards taking our bilateral relationship to a new height," she added.
Hasina recalled with gratitude his recent visit to Bangladesh in March this year, which provided an opportunity to jointly chart the future course of our bilateral relations for the materialisation of the common aspiration of the two peoples.
