Dhaka, Aug 21 (UNB) – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate third Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner ‘Gangchil’ on Thursday.
After the inauguration by the Prime Minister at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:30am, ‘Gangchil’ will fly for Abdu Dhabi in its maiden flight at 5:30pm on the day, said Tasmin Akhter, manager (Public Relations) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, on Wednesday.
The third Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner was added to the Biman’s fleet on July 25.
In 2008, Biman signed a deal to purchase 10 aircraft from US aircraft manufacturer Boeing. Of these, Biman has already received four new Boeing 777-300ERs, two 737-800s, and three 787-8s Dreamliner.
Gangchil has 271 seats -- 24 business class and 247 economy class ones. The business class seats can be flattened to 180 degrees straight.
