He made the remarks when a delegation of the Law Commission, Bangladesh, led by its Chairman Justice ABM Khairul Haque, submitted its annual report-2019 to him at Bangabhaban in the afternoon.
"The proper enforcement of laws is a must to establish the rule of law… and it’ll help make the trial process easier and quicker through which the litigants will get justice within the shortest time," the President said.
At the meeting, the delegation apprised the President of overall activities of the commission and different aspects of the report, President's Press Secretary Joynal Abedin told UNB.
It also informed Abdul Hamid that the commission is working to make different laws, including 'Evidence Act 1872', ‘Code of Criminal Procedure (1898)’ and 'Code of Civil Procedure 1908' modern and time-befitting ones.
Law Commission's Member Justice ATM Fazle Kabir and secretaries concerned to the President were also present there.
