Dhaka, Nov 12 (UNB) – Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) on Tuesday pressed charges against Kalabagan Krira Chakra Club President and Krishak League leader Shafiqul Alam Firoz in a drug case filed with Dhanmondi police station.
Rab-2 sub-inspector (SI) Jasim Uddin submitted a charge-sheet before Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury, said SI Ashraf Ali of Dhanmondi Police Station.
On September 20, Rab members detained five people, including Safiqul Alam, and recovered a pistol and Yaba pills from the Krira Chakra club office in Kalabagan area.
On September 21, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mahmuda Aktar put Firoz on a 10-day remand -- five-day each in two cases filed under narcotics control and arms acts.
On September 30, Firoz was placed on another five-day remand in a case filed under the Arms Act.
