“Bangladesh entered into the darkest period after the brutal assassination and murder of our father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman- but our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina took bold and necessary steps to make Bangladesh as Bangabandhu’s dreamland ‘Sonar Bangla’, upon her returning to the country. To continue the progress, the country needs the leadership of Sheikh Hasina,” Dr Hasan Mahmud reflected on Prime Minister’s heartfelt contributions and achievements as the leader of the nation, at a seminar organized by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) on Tuesday.
The organization arranged the seminar on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s eventful life at its National Art Gallery, as part of a series of ten seminars in occasion of BSA’s ongoing month-long exhibition “Sheikh Hasina – Bangladesh er Shopnosharathi” (Sheikh Hasina – The Dream Chaser of Bangladesh)- where the minister applauded the PM.
Dr Hasan Mahmud attended the seminar as its chief guest, while eminent educationist and national professor Dr Rafiqul Islam alongside with Dhaka University’s former Vice-Chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique joined the seminar as guest speakers.
Dr Rafiqul Islam praised the PM, saying “Sheikh Hasina was not only the daughter of Bangabandhu- she was also a good, potential, gentle and meritorious student and a future leader. We are proud to say that we saw her as the future leader, and that surely brought good fortune to the country.”
Applauding BSA’s attempt to portray the eventful life of PM in the month-long exhibition, AAMS Arefin Siddique said “Photographs speak louder than words. Each and every photo in this beautiful exhibition tells a lot about the emotional journey of hardship that our PM has survived.”
Later the speakers and audience members visited the exhibition and praised the artworks of the artists.
The ongoing exhibition, which is being displayed at galleries 1 and 6 of the National Art Gallery complex from Saturday –Thursday from 11 am to 8 pm, and 3 pm to 8 pm on Friday, is set to be concluded on October 27.
