In its report, the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution has been asked to include legal measures taken against companies involved with adulteration.
Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice KM Hafizul Alam’s bench issued the order.
Advocate Md Faridul Islam stood for the Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BSFA), Advocate Sarkar MR Hasan moved for BSTI and Deputy Attorney General AKM Amin Uddin represented the state.
The court issued the order when BSTI questioned the authenticity of a report provided by National Food Safety Laboratory (NFSL) which found chemicals in samples of liquid and powder milk and dairy products.
Prof Dr Shahnnila Ferdousi, chief of NFSL, filed their report today and described the study prepared by the organisation.
The court on May 15 asked Dr Ferdousi to appear before it to learn about the processes followed during the tests.
