“Vote is a democratic right. The election will be fair and there’s no fear in this regard. Those who’ll get the vote of people will form the government,” she said in her introductory speech at a meeting of the Awami League-led 14-party alliance at the Prime Minister’s official residence Ganobhaban.
The Prime Minister, however, urged the country’s people to vote for Awami League to continue the trend of development. “I hope people will cast their votes for Awami League for changing their own fate.”
Sheikh Hasina said Bangladesh will turn into a country of money-laundering, corruption, militancy and terrorism if the BNP-Jamaat clique returns to power. “People will be deprived of development. There’ll be no change to their fate.”
“However, people are the owner of power. Those who they vote for will form the government,” she further said.
The Prime Minister said Awami League has worked for the country’s development for the last 10 years. “Bangladesh has turned into a developing country while its growth saw a rise and the poverty rate a decline. People now believe that there’s development when Awami League is in power.”
She expressed the hope that Bangladesh will get the status of a developed country if people elect Awami League again in the next election.
