A three-day international exposition on the food processing industry will begin in the city on Thursday.
Bangladesh Agro-Processors’ Association (BAPA) and Rainbow Exhibition & Event Management Services Ltd will jointly organise the exhibition at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB).
At a press conference at the Economic Reporters’ Forum (ERF) on Tuesday, the organisers said the show will have two segments - “9th Agro Bangladesh Expo 2019” and “6th Rice & Graintech Expo Bangladesh.”
BAPA President and Pran-RFL Group Chairman Ahsan Khan Chowdhury, Senior Vice-president SM Jahangir Hossain, General Secretary Ittehadul Haque and Rainbow Managing Director Chan Mohan Saha spoke on the occasion.
They said the exhibition will play a vital role to introduce Bangladeshi local market players with the international market and create a bridge with the international technology and products.
“This will be big platform for the entrepreneurs in the sector to showcase their products and services to the local as well as international buyers to expand their business,” said Ahsan Khan.
He said BAPA was found in 1998 with 13 members with some specific objectives such as to protect, develop, support and promote all measures and steps towards growing, producing, processing, manufacturing and marketing local products.
BAPA officials said currently the organisation consists of 300 members who are exporting goods to 144 countries across the world with an export volume of $372 million.
The expo will remain open for all from 11am to 7pm every day till Saturday. Companies from 15 countries will take part in the exposition.
The fair will feature business matching sessions along with technical sessions where industry experts will present their views on specific topics.
