Chattogram, Mar 20 (UNB) – Two workers suffered burn injury after an underground gas line exploded at Sirajuddoula road in the port city on Wednesday.
The gas pipeline went off around 4:15pm while the two laborers Md Dulal, 34, Belal, 41 were working inside a manhole near Joynab Colony in the area alighting a candle.
They sustained burn injuries when leaked gas came in contact with the candle, according to locals.
On information, firefighters rushed in and sent the injured to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, said Md Jashim Uddin, Deputy Assistant Director of Chattogram Fire Service and Civil Defense.
