Dhaka, Mar 11 (UNB)— The utility services of nine holdings were cut off by Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) on Monday as part of a drive to remove chemical warehouses from Old Dhaka.
The DSCC special taskforce gave eight factories 15 days to relocate their chemical warehouses and fined another company Tk 1,00,000, a DSCC source said.
DSCC operated the drive in Debidas Lane, Khazadewan Lane, Haranath Ghosh Road, Moneswar Road, BC Road, Bonogram Road of Hazaribagh and Old Dhaka.
So far, utility connections to warehouses of 132 holdings have been disconnected.
The DSCC launched the drive after a devastating fire at Chawkbazar claimed the lives of 71 people and injured dozens of others on February 20.
