A writ petition was filed with the High Court on Monday seeking directives to stop sending female workers to five Middle-East countries, particularly Saudi Arabia.
The other countries are – Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan.
A resident of Cox’s Bazar filed the petition. Hearing on it may be held on Tuesday, said petitioner’s lawyer Jaman Akter Bubbul.
Secretaries to home and expatriates’ welfare, Inspector General of Police, Deputy Commissioner of Chattogram and, Judge of Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-2 of Chattogram have been made defendants.
