Dhaka, Nov 18 (UNB) – BNP has started interviewing its nomination hopefuls to finalise the candidates who will contest the 11th parliamentary elections with its tickets.
The party nomination board, comprising BNP standing committee members, started the interview with those who bought party nomination forms for Rangpur division’s Panchagar-1 constituency at BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office at 9:40am on Sunday.
BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman joined the nomination board through videoconferencing and he is asking the aspirants various questions.
Talking to UNB, some aspirants said Tarique mainly asked them about their popularity in their respective areas, BNP’s organisational strength and their contributions to the party.
He is also giving the party‘s nomination hopefuls guidelines about how they should mobilise public support and ensure the victory of the party in the election.
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Moudud Ahmed, Jamiruddin Sircar, Rafiqul Islam Miah, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Abdul Moyeen Khan, Nazrul Islam Khan and Amir Kahosru Mahmud Chowdhury are present there in the nomination board.
The interview of the nomination seekers of Rajshahi division will also be taken today.
Later, the nomination board will interview the nomination hopefuls of Rajshahi division from 3pm.
The interview of Khunla division’s aspirants will start at 9am while that of Barishal division at 3pm on Monday.
The nomination board will start the interview of Chattogram division’s aspirants at 9am on Tuesday while that of Cumilla and Sylhet divisions from 3pm the same day.
The interview of Mymensingh division’s aspirants will start at 9am while that of Faridpur division at 3pm on Wednesday.
BNP sold 4,580 nomination papers among the aspirants who want to contest the 11th parliamentary elections with its tickets.
The 11th parliamentary elections will be held on December 30.
The last date for submission of nomination papers is November 28 instead of November 19.
