“Jatiya Oikyafront was formed together with our party. This unity will be extended and strengthened further. The government is now carrying out propaganda against the front leaders to mislead people,” he said.
Speaking at a discussion, the BNP leader further said, “People won’t get confused if one or two parties go away from the unity process. Rather, those who will quit it will throw themselves into the trash bin.”
Sammilita Chhatra Forum arranged the programme at the Jatiya Press Club demanding BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s release from jail.
Three days after BNP formed a new alliance, Jatiya Oikyafront, two partners of its old alliance 20-party, NAP and NDP, announced to quit the coalition accusing the party of deviating from its moral position.
Nazrul, a BNP standing committee member and 20-party coordinator, said they forged the greater unity to make their movement for ‘restoration’ of democracy stronger.
He said most opposition parties are now making similar demands for holding the next polls under a non-party administration by dissolving the parliament to save the country from misrule.
The BNP leader urged people of all walks of life to get ready for making sacrifice for ‘restoration’ of democracy in the country.
