Oscar Bruzon, the Spanish coach of the BPL Football champions Bashundhara Kings, heaped praise on his goalkeeper Anisur Rahman Zico for his performance in the AFC Cup match against TC Sports of the Maldives on Wednesday, that helped his side run out big winners in the first leg of their tie.
In a post-match press conference, Oscar Bruzon said, “He saved three penalties in the day’s match. I don’t know if is there any instance in the world football like this! He is a superb performer to save penalties. In the last year’s Federation Cup, Zico saved many penalties in tie breaker.”
TC Sports Club Coach Mohammad Shazly also praised Zico’s outstanding performance and said “Actually he (Zico) was the difference between the two teams. We got chance to level score line at 2-2. But we failed due to him only.”
Bashundhara Kings won the day’s home match by 5-1 goals against TC Sports of the Maldives at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here – a welcome success after a long time for a Bangladeshi team against Maldivian opposition.
Regarding observation of the day’s match, Oscar Bruzon said, “We converted our attacks into goals. Combination of the Daniel Colindres and Barcos was so impressive. They have very good understanding on and off the field. It’s almost like `husband-wife’ relation between them.”
TC Sports Coach said, “If we could have equalized at 2-2, than there will have been a different scenario. When it was 3-1, the game left out our grip. However, we will snatch the points from Kings in Male.”
