The Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) in its executive committee meeting held in its Kuala Lumpur headquarters on Saturday gave the green signal to Bangladesh’s proposal to arrange Bangladesh Champions Trophy and Junior Asia Cup Hockey in a suitable time next year.
BHF Senior Vice-president and AHF EC member Abdur Rashid Sikder along with another BHF Vice-president Sajed AA Adel attended the meeting and submitted the Bangladesh’s proposal to host the tournaments which was approved at the AHF board meeting.
Abdur Rashid Sikder, who also attended the AHF opening meeting on Friday, said the BHF will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the BHF in August next to this end.
Besides, Air Asia signed a contract with the AHF on Saturday to become its airlines partner.
After the day’s meeting, the two Bangladeshi officials and AHF EC members also attended a lunch hosted by former AHF President and newly crowned Malaysian King Sultan Abdullah Shah.
