After failing to send the shooters to Beijing for the ISSF World Cup in April, Bangladesh Shooting Sport Federation (BSSF) finally sent a nine-member team (six shooters and three officials) to Munich on May 24 with an aim to earn a quota for Tokyo Olympics.
Of the six shooters, Commonwealth Games double silver medalist rifle shooter Abdullah Hel Baki along with Md Rabbi Hasan Munna and Md Robiul Islam will compete in the Men’s 10m Air Rifle while another Commonwealth Games silver medalist pistol shooter Shakil Ahmed along with Md Piash Hossain and Abdur Razzak in Men’s 10m Air Pistol of the event.
BSSF chief executive officer Mustaque Waise on Sunday said the shooters are well-prepared and ready for the tough competition there.
“We sent them (shooters) to Munich with a target to earn a quota for Tokyo Olympics. Only top three shooters will get the opportunity to participate in the upcoming Olympics. I hope our shooters will do well there,” he said.
