Dhaka, July 18 (UNB)- Touring Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) XI were trailing by 299 runs against Dr DY Patil Cricket Academy at stumps on the 3rd day of the 2nd four-day match of the Dr (Capt) K Thimmappaiah Memorial Cricket Tournament, also known as Mini Ranji Trophy, at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Thursday.
At the end of Day 3, Dr DY Patil Cricket Academy, who commenced their 2nd innings Thursday morning with 25-run lead, scored 274 for 8 in 68.0 overs, featuring a century by Naushad Shaikh (108 off 163 balls).
Iqbal Abdullah and Mukesh Choudhary remained unbeaten on 42 and 4 runs respectively.
Bandgladesh speedster fast bowler Taskin Ahmed grabbed four wickets for 69.
Earlier, left arm spinner of BCB XI Taijul Islam grabbed eight wickets conceding 144 runs to bowl out Dr DY Patil Cricket Academy for 331 in 102.5 overs in their first innings. Ashay Sardesai smashed 128 runs off 282 balls.
In reply, the BCB XI were dismissed for 306 in 88 overs in their first innings featuring a half century by Kazi Nurul Hossain (87 off 118 balls), conceding a first innings lead of 25.
Mukesh Choudhary picked up three wickets for Dr DY Patil CA while Aquib Qureshi, Sairaj Patil and Naushad Shaikh bagged two wickets each.
BCB XI are now 2nd in the four-team Group B securing 3 points while KSCA Secretary XI topped the group list securing 6 points.
Among others, Vidarbha Cricket Association bagged one point while Dr DY Patil Cricket Academy team are yet to open their account having played a match each.
