The Iranian coach arrived here on Saturday night and directly joined the training camp at BKSP, said a press release of Bangladesh Hockey Federation on Sunday.
On the first day, the 36-year-old coach was introduced to the players and discussed about basic and skill of indoor hockey.
Later, 34 players, split into four teams played matches under the supervision of their new coach.
Hamid Reza has been holding many positions in Iran hockey since 2008.
He acted as general Secretary of Iran Hockey Federation from 2010 to 2018, the head coach of Tehran Hockey Team from 2008 to 2012 and co-coach of Iran National Team from 2009 to 2010.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh team will take part in the Indoor Hockey Asia Cup’2019 for the first time scheduled to be held in Thailand from July 15-21.
Bangladesh has been placed in Pool A alongside Iran, Malaysia, Thailand and Philippines.
Bangladesh team is expected to fly for Thailand on July 1 to join a 15-day preparation camp there ahead of the tournament.
