Dhaka Mohammedan SC and Bangladesh Police SC won their respective matches of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football at two different venues across the country on Monday.
Dhaka Mohammedan SC advanced to the 2nd slot in the league table securing six points from three matches beating Sheikh Russel KC by 2-1 goals at Sylhet District Stadium in Sylhet on Monday while Saif Sporting Club topped the league table securing seven points from three league outings.
On the other hand, one of the big budgeted team Sheikh Russel bagged only two points from 3 matches.
Mohammedan SC took lead in the match in the very 6th minute. Souleymane Diabate of Mali found the net beating on rushing Russel’s custodian and defender, capitalizing on a long pass from his defense (1-0).
Sheikh Russel equalized the margin before half time. Abdullah took free kick from about 35 yards, Mohammedan defenders failed to clear the ball and Pedro Guis of Timur-Leste fired the net by a powerful shot (1-1).

In the day’s other match, Bangladesh Police FC tasted their first win in the league beating Uttar Baridhara Club also by 2-1 goals at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here.
Police took lead in the 29th minute. American forward Rivera Sidney headed nicely from left side. He was the highest scorer of the recently concluded Federation Cup Football.
After six minutes, Laskov of Bulgaria extended the Police lead. He took a free kick almost from 30 yards (2-0).
Arif Hossian of Uttar Baridhara reduced the margin in the 47th minute by a diving header from the danger zone (2-1).
Police FC earned four points from three matches while Uttar Baridhara Club yet to open account yet.
Defending Champions Bashundhara Kings will take Brothers Union at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Tuesday.
