Dhaka, Aug 24 (UNB) - Bangladesh Test and T20 captain Shakib Al Hasan joined the fitness and conditioning camp on Saturday ahead of the one-off home Test against Afghanistan beginning September 5 in Chattogram.
He has been out of action since the ICC World Cup where he performed brilliantly, scoring 606 runs and taking 11 wickets.
Right after the World Cup, Shakib asked the BCB to allow him some time off. He performed Hajj and after that, spent some time with his family in the US.
After the long break, Shakib joined the national team and had a meeting with the coaches and the chairman of the BCB cricket operation, Akram Khan, on Saturday.
Akram told the media that they asked Shakib to come up with a plan for the forthcoming home series.
After the one-off Test against Afghanistan, Tigers will lock horns against Afghanistan and Zimbabwe in a tri-series T20 which will be played in Dhaka and Chattogram.
